STAT Bearing: The Core of Spindle Performance
Bearings are fundamental to spindle performance, governing rotational smoothness, positional accuracy, and long-term reliability. By reducing friction between the spindle shaft and housing, bearings enable stable rotation while supporting radial and axial loads generated during machining. Their performance directly affects spindle precision, wear resistance, and machining consistency.
JTEKT’s proprietary STAT BEARING represents a key innovation in high-precision grinding machines. By combining static and dynamic pressure, it generates a fluid film that supports the rotating spindle without metal-to-metal contact. This design significantly reduces wear and extends service life.
With its highly rigid structure and excellent damping characteristics, the STAT BEARING enables spindle rotational accuracy of 0.016 micrometers, delivering exceptional stability and vibration suppression. JTEKT CNC Grinding Technology G3 Series: Precision with Operational Simplicity
To address labor shortages and the challenge of transferring advanced grinding expertise, JTEKT developed the G3 Series — high-precision grinding machines designed for intuitive, user-friendly operation.
The machine bed is engineered using composite structural analysis to compensate for deformation and thermal displacement. As a result, dimensional variation is reduced to one-third of conventional models, enhancing machining stability.
High-Accuracy Feed Mechanism
The G3 Series improves feed rigidity by supporting the ball screw with high-rigidity bearings. A floating plate mechanism on the wheel head and table absorbs ball screw runout while preserving directional stiffness.
This design achieves:

Critical sliding components, including the wheel head slide and table slide, undergo precision hand scraping by expert technicians. Scraping improves straightness, reduces wear, and maintains long-term geometric accuracy.
Additional scraping on the table upper surface and mating faces ensures stable motion of the spindle head and tailstock while preserving table swing accuracy over extended operation.
Expanded Lineup for Diverse Production Needs
The G3P50 is available in two configurations:
General Purpose Type
Suitable for workpieces with center holes or chuck clamping. Features a 7-inch 3-jaw scroll chuck and supports both dead and live workhead operation.
Mass-Production Type
Optimized for high-efficiency grinding of workpieces with center holes on both ends. Equipped with a dead spindle workhead, auto-sizer, and supports 3P, Ø8–Ø80 mm. A higher wheel surface speed of 45 m/s increases productivity and consistency.
