The HDKJ carries extensions of up to 750mm. Laser scanners and scanning heads can be supported further from the axis of rotation than with conventional probe heads due to the combination of extreme rotational torque and the HDKJ adaptor. The HDKJ can be changed either manually without the need for requalification or automatically with the HR-R tool changer fitted with the optional HR-RH Heavy duty module changer. The HH-A-2.5 range of probe heads feature a number of new innovations including an fully embedded controller, capacitive crash protection and the all new heavy duty kinematic joint. All of the probe heads in the range benefit from a completely redesigned drive system including a Hirth Gear for accurate positioning of the probe. The new design delivers the advantage of a high degree of indexable positions and very high rotational torque. The HH-A-2.5 can either be mounted on the CMM with a shank or flange, alternatively the HH-AS8-2.5 can be mounted on any CMM with an 80mm ram.

TIGO SF is an accurate and compact CMM specifically designed for use on the shop floor. With a measurement volume of 500 x 580 x 500 mm (X/Y/Z), it is the ideal measurement solution for a wide range of small and medium size parts from all industrial sectors. The solid and robust TIGO SF features air-free movement to ensure performance in harsh shop-floor environments. The machine structure is fully protected by the covers and bellows to prevent contamination of the moving parts. Electronic equipment is housed in the machine stand, and an IP54-rated version of the stand is available as an option for extra protection in the harshest environments. Passive dampeners mitigate the effects of vibration, and an active dampening system is available as an option for workshop setups where vibrations may have a greater impact. Thanks to its cantilever structure, TIGO SF is open on three sides and therefore offers optimal accessibility for manual and automatic part loading and unloading for seamless integration into a variety of production processes. The thick granite worktable also incorporates a dense grid of fixturing holes to make part placement easy and quick. TIGO SF is the all-in-one measuring solution for production areas; in the standard configuration both the controller and the PC are housed inside the machine stand, and the monitor and keyboard are positioned on a swivelling arm to ensure maximum ergonomics with the minimum footprint. This standalone compact configuration can be easily relocated to suit changing production needs. In its standard configuration TIGO SF comes equipped with the HP-S-X1C fixed probe head to support high-speed, high-accuracy continuous scanning and point-to-point measurements. Alternatively, the CMM can be equipped with the automatic indexable HH-A-5° or manual index HH-MI-M and touch trigger probes for greater flexibility. Enhanced structural thermal compensation enables TIGO SF’s standard operating temperature range of 15 °C to 30 °C to be extended up to 40 ˚C through the XT extended temperature option. Open Access Measuring Volume Easy loading and unloading of workpieces thanks to the full accessibility offered by the TIGO SF’s three open sides. Compact Size The PC, controller and peripherals including the screen and the keyboard are all mounted to the same base to ensure minimal footprint for easy placement onto the shop floor or production line. TIGO SF offers the best volume to footprint ratio in its class. Linear Guideways All axes on the TIGO SF work on a linear guideway system with no air required, reducing the risk from production contaminants and making installation and relocation simpler. Ergonomic Workstation TIGO SF’s ergonomically-designed workstation allows operators to position the screen and keyboard exactly where they need it, while an easy-to-reach USB port enables fast data transfer. Eco Mode Eco Mode automatically powers down the machine when it stands idle, improving energy efficiency without shutting down the CMM. Eco Mode supports environmental sustainability whilst reducing operating costs, giving metrology the green light. Fly2 Mode Fly2 Mode is a trajectory-control feature for enhanced probe movement. It decreases program execution times whilst reducing operating and maintenance costs by optimising machine motion and trajectories, causing less stress on moving parts. Scan Pilot The Scan Pilot advanced firmware algorithm and motion-control parameters enable accurate measurement of undefined path profiles quickly with minimal setup. Consistent contact is achieved through greater motion control, even in the presence of abrupt surface changes, allowing users to save time on non-predefined measurement tasks. PULSE When fluctuations in environmental conditions are enough to affect a measurement result, PULSE provides traceability through environment monitoring. PULSE uses a network of sensors to record variations in temperature, vibration and humidity in the CMM environment as well as monitoring for machine collisions, and sends alerts to the user via email or SMS when predefined operating conditions are exceeded. XT Option The optional XT upgrade enables accurate and reliable measurement in an expanded temperature range of 15 °C to 40 °C, and can be applied to all new TIGO SF CMMs or to existing machine installations as a retrofit. Messaging Lights LED status indicator lights are mounted on the Z-axis cover to allow at-a-glance assessment of the machine and program status from across the factory floor. Users have a clear visual indication of whether measurements are in progress or if the CMM requires operator intervention. This means the CMM can be left unattended, allowing time and resource optimisation.

Notes on how to Attach Inserts

  1. Remove any foreign particles or oil from the insert seat before attaching the insert.
  2. Ensure the seat location is clean and free of damage.
  3. Slide the insert level over its seat.
  4. Push the insert with its opposite end (the holder side) firmly against the insert stop end.
  5. The recommended tightening torque is 5m. Tightening above the recommended torque may damage the insert or the holder which could cause injury and other accidents.

Notes on how to Apply Holders

  1. Remove any foreign particles or oil from the tool post before attaching the holder.
  2. Ensure the seat location is clean and free of damage.
  3. Attach the holder so that the insert is perpendicular to the workpiece.
  4. Set holder with shortest possible overhang.
  5. When grooving or turning, adjust the center height of the cutting edge to as close ±0mm as possible.(Within ±0,1mm is recommended)
  6. Incorrect center height adjustment may cause chattering. (In cut-off applications, adjust the center heightof the cutting edge to a value from 0,0 to +0,2mm).

A lower center height will result in larger nip at the center
