WinTool: Shaping the Toolroom of the Future for Thailand’s Manufacturing Industry
MEGATech is proud to feature an exclusive interview with Mr. Andreas Haimer, President of Haimer Group, who shared in depth the benefits and technological strengths of the newly introduced WinTool system. As manufacturing continues its rapid transition toward digitalization, HAIMERʼs launch of WinTool at METALEX 2025 marks a significant milestone-bringing a fully connected toolroom concept to the Thai market for the first time.

President of Haimer Group
Mr. Andreas shared “WinTool is far more than a conventional tool management software. It is a complete digital manufacturing solution designed to unify machines, tools, data, and workflows across the entire toolroom. The platform integrates seamlessly with smart vending machines, tool presetters, shrinking machines, and CNC machines, enabling factories to operate through a smooth and centralized ecosystem”.
Reinventing Tool Management: WinTool’s Power in Automation, Integration, and Cost Savings
One of WinToolʼs most notable strengths is its ability to create digital twins of cutting tool assemblies. Operators can generate new tool records within seconds, and every toolʼs geometry and parameters synchronize instantly across connected machines. This eliminates repetitive data entry and significantly reduces human error-common pain points in traditional toolrooms.

Mr. Andreas highlighted that WinTool also overcomes inefficiencies in CAM programming. Programmers often spend considerable time drawing tool geometries and entering specifications. WinTool automates these steps, allowing teams to focus on higher-value tasks such as process optimization. With compatibility across more than 20 CAM systems, WinTool ensures flexibility and prevents manufacturers from being locked into a single platform.
WinToolʼs integration with smart tool cabinets represents another leap forward. Operators digitally “select” tools much like adding items to an online shopping cart. The cabinet unlocks only the relevant drawer, updates inventory in real time, and tracks stock levels automatically. This visibility minimizes unnecessary tool purchases, reduces waste, and improves overall efficiency
These capabilities have already been proven in HAIMERʼs own factory in Germany, where over 220 machines are managed through WinTool. Full implementation took just four months, and within the first year, the factory achieved a 15% reduction in cutting tool costs thanks to improved transparency and process control
Guiding the Digital Shift: HAIMER’s Commitment to Training and Long-Term Partnership
MEGATech also had the honour to interview Mr. Amolak Preet Singh, Managing Director ‒ India, South East Asia, ANZ & UK who shared insights on customer implementation, training, and aftersales support.
He emphasized that Thailand is entering a pivotal era, driven by the growth of EV manufacturing and high-precision industries. However, a shortage of skilled labor remains a major challenge.

WinTool bridges this gap by moving operations from people-dependent to process-driven, ensuring consistency even with limited manpower. However, what is as crucial as the software is the structured onboarding and continuous support.
Mr. Amolak explained that HAIMER conducts extensive workshops, provides long-term guidance, and supports customers throughout the learning curve. Importantly, HAIMER offers nearly 24/7 global support, both online and on-site, reflecting HAIMERʼs commitment to long-term partnerships.
With WinTool, HAIMER provides Thai manufacturers with a powerful pathway to digital transformation-enhancing efficiency, reducing costs, and preparing factories for the future of global manufacturing.

Mr. Amolak concluded with confidence “HAIMER conducts intensive workshops, provides long-term guidance, and stands beside customers throughout every step of system adoption. We also offer near 24/7 support, both online and on-site. This truly reflects HAIMERʼs commitment to being a long-term business partner.”
