Recognizing the importance of an intuitive interface, Seibu has designed a user-friendly system featuring a 21.5-inch multi-touch panel with easy-to-navigate graphics, maintaining a consistent operational framework while enhancing clarity. Moreover, a newly integrated maintenance screen includes cost calculations, history log, and step-by-step guidance for replacement and cleaning procedures. There is also simple operation assist SO-Assist, cutting condition support CC-support, and operation status notification feature SS-link that contribute to the user-friendliness. Furthermore, Workpiece set-up is streamlined through innovative features. Standardized square tables facilitate positioning, while the Y-axis stroke extension of 50 mm expands the cutting range, enabling simultaneous placement of two plates, significantly improving productivity. Additionally, 3D level adjust and start hole device also ensure an easy set-up process through automatic correction for vertical accuracy and simple type start-hole cutting device respectively.

Unmatched Precision: Advanced Cutting and Wire Feeding Technology

As the cutting process commences, a reliable feeding technology plays a crucial role as it ensures seamless cutting. Seibu has consistently employed the annual dry method since 1981, refining it over the years to enhance efficiency. Recent advancements include an annealing process that stabilizes wire feeding without requiring roller rotation, thereby improving automation. The all-in-one Automatic Wire Feeding (AWF) system further supports microfabrication by enabling the precise feeding of ultra-thin wires, ensuring optimal performance even with challenging workpieces. During the cutting process, maintaining cutting accuracy is paramount. To minimize errors, Seibu has developed a path correction system that reduces flaw of two approach points, at approach and at escape. Furthermore, a taper cutting accuracy has been developed; it recalculates dimensions based on test cutting results, simultaneously refining angle and dimensional precision. Improved surface finish and reduced finishing stroke and cutting time can also maintain accuracy. Lastly, straightness of XY axis can be improved to achieve roundness of only 0.81 mm to maintain the high level of accuracy.

Upon cutting completion, Seibu ensures stable precision through high rigidity mechanical structure to increase machine rigidity, using CAE analysis to review the machine structure. Additionally, a high precision, highly efficient power supply offers stable precision, as it offers reduced power and wire consumption, energy savings, and low running cost. Upon inspection completion and confirmation of cutting process, task reduction is achieved via core stitch, core catch, SSV Vision measurement function, and EL coating. Following the stage after this, zero tolerance is done via ultra-precision plate cutting by mold production without jig grinding process and cutting samples.
