e.Volution MAX: The Pioneer EV Truck
Last-mile delivery represents 53% of the total shipping costs and 41% of overall supply chain expenses. Without action, carbon emissions from urban delivery traffic could rise by 32% by 2030. Customers and logistics operators are paying close attention, and their expectations are high: they demand convenience and sustainability at the right price.
In a world dominated by linear value chains, the ‘take, make, waste’ approach is reaching its limitations. Dwindling resources, fragile supply chains, and increasing regulatory pressure underscore the imperative to decouple growth from resource extraction and shift towards a more sustainable, circular future.
e.Volution stands for fully electric, durable and upgradeable vehicles with disruptive vehicle concepts and innovative reassembly factories that maximize the service life of electric vehicles.
The MAX electric truck has a 10 year history as DHL /Deutsche Post’s StreetScooter. With more than 20,000 units delivered it is the pioneer in the field of all-electric light commercial vehicles.
Decarbonize the “Last Mile” at lower TCO (Total Cost of Ownership)
The e.Volution MAX is built around a robust ladder frame concept and an efficient electric drive. All is as robust as possible – the battery, the motor, the chassis, the interior and the box.
With over 20,000 vehicles on the road and around 400 million kilometers driven, MAX is one of the most proven electric commercial vehicles on the market.
Its focus on productivity, ergonomics and low operating costs makes it the perfect green commercial vehicle for any fleet.
The cargo volume of 8-12 m3 enables a capacity of 250 parcels and a maximum payload of 1,000 kg. With its maximum total weight of 2,800 kg, it offers a superior payload in the light commercial vehicle class.
With a range 200 km (WLTP City), the MAX ensures efficient continuous operation with low operating costs thanks to it’s low-maintenance design. Low cost overnight-charging results in significantly less operating cost than those of ICE vehicles.
Proven performance: 20,000 StreetScooter in Service with DHL Germany
With the StreetScooter, Deutsche Post DHL Group, together with the RWTH University Aachen, developed future-focused electric vehicles for letter and parcel deliveries.
In early 2014 Deutsche Post DHL took150 pre-series vehicles into operation, deploying them at various delivery depots throughout Germany. Today there are more than 20,000 StreetScooters out on the roads, most of them in Germany.
Electric vehicles are especially suited to journeys in heavy stop-start traffic: The StreetScooter copes with up to 300 stops and starts per day, and is deployed on up to 300 days per year.
With net zero emissions of CO2, particle pollutants and noise, the iconic light electric trucks are both environmentally friendly.
Circular Economy “Upgrade Factory’ results in 20 years useful Life.
e.Volution radically re-invented the concept of “Last mile” vehicles moving away from “Recycling” to “Remanufacturing” to fully utilize the useful life of it’s core components.
Today’s light trucks with a heavy use of 30,000 – 40,000 km per year are typically used for 5 years only and then go to the “second hand” market with 200,000 km on the meter resulting in a devaluation of 80% or more of the new price, similar like taxis.
However more than 50% of the vehicle components have very little or low wear and tear such us the body, the eDrive and the battery. Other components can be replaced and re-used for second-use applications. The battery for example will be replaced after 10 years and used for another 20 years in stationary storage systems.
The e.Volution Upgrade Factory refurbishes all vehicles after 5 years to bring it back to “mint” condition – with replacement of all wear parts and heavily used components such as seats, exterior planking while at the same time overhauling brake and steering systems. This results in a vehicles that have a “brand new feel”
Superior Modularity
The e.Volution MAX is available in two different versions. The “Box” version provides a spacious loading volume of 8-12 m3 and an optimized loading height. Sliding doors on both sides and a hinged door in the back offer for maximum ergonomics. The box can be adapted to customer-specific requirements.
Practical Safety
The driver’s display clearly shows all relevant information and the back camera gives the driver an overview in all driving situations, thus ensuring safe operation.
The passenger seat can be optionally replaced by a storage system for additional packages and goods, thus increasing productivity.
Robust & Flexible
Various body designs for a wide range of applications make the e.Volution MAX a real all-rounder.
This includes body types with skip, box and platform solutions as well as special bodies.
The rear frame with dimensions of 3,260 x 1,021 mm enables individual solutions by specialized vehicle body manufacturers offering a maximum payload of 1319 kg.

e.Volution in Thailand
The MAX was introduced during TILOG Logistics show in Bangkok for the first time in August 2024 and received a very positive feedback. The e.Volution team is now preparing the localization of sourcing and assembly for a start of production in 2025.
Thai automotive suppliers are encouraged to register for sourcing program starting in October 2024.
